WOC's mission is to custom-tailor content for the clientele and viewers in order to enrich & enhance their lives, their business, and the lives of their community.

WOC is a for-profit organization and believes in using its given resources to empower and transform people. It is at its core missional and believes in using media to minister to real people and their very real needs - whether it's a commercial to promote one's business or a short film to raise awareness for a social injustice - we believe that each film has the power and capability to do so. WOC will be a team of creatives, change-makers, and storytellers who tells raw stories that knit together humanity, challenge conventional thinking, and inspire love - to live and work for something greater.

****NEW LAUNCH & PROJECT****

We are going to Bangladesh & India!

WOC has been given the opportunity to engage in a new mission-driven project to tell two inspiring stories. We will be embarking upon a five-day trip to Bangladesh and a two-day trip to India.

In the city of Cox Bazar, Bangladesh, we will be creating a short documentary/promo video for a woman named Sweetie. She is a Bangladeshi Muslim who desires to encourage and help equip the handicapped and widows to become self-sufficient by teaching them sewing as a skill set. Sweetie is a translator for many NGOs that work in the Rohingya Refugee camp in Bangladesh. Although she helps the Rohingya in the camp through her translation efforts (for more info about Rohingya refugee crisis, see video: https://www.pbs.org/…/frontl…/film/myanmars-killing-fields/…), she desires to see her own community and people, epecially those that are marginalized, leading self-sustaining and thriving lives. Thus her project to help the Bangladesh widows and handicapped came to materialize. We will be following around Sweetie in Cox Bazar all the while interviewing her and the women she is helping in her village.

We will also have a training opportunity. We will be teaching film making to a local aspiring Photographer & Film-maker while creating the promotional video for Sweetie. Our apprentice's name is Nihab Rahmen (https://www.instagram.com/nihab_rahman/?hl=en). He currently works as a communications officer for two NGOs, Food For The Hungry and Medical Teams International.

In the city of Delhi, India, we will be creating a promotional video to help raise awareness for Shiksha Rath, an afterschool holistic education center for slum children in Delhi. This school is run by Atula Walling, who is the director and other volunteer teachers. Shiksha Rath is a long-term initiative and provides after school classes, nutritious meals and health care to some of Delhi’s poorest children. Teachers at the academy fuse Indian and international curriculums and also teach a variety of extra classes such as sport, languages, music and drama. The goal of the school is to bring holistic education and care to each and every student (http://shiksharath.org/faq-2/). Here, we will be following around the director, Atula Walling, as well as the teachers and students at the education center. Hopefully we will be able to visit some of the homes of the students to showcase the lives of the students as a whole.

TRIP DETAILS:

This 10-day trip will commence from July 23rd to August 1st of this year. We will be traveling to Dhaka and Cox Bazaar in Bangladesh till the 30th and then proceed to Delhi, India till the 1st of August.

This trip is estimated to cost approximately $5000 which includes all travel (6 flights), accommodations, vaccinations, visas, and equipment rental for two videographers.

The equipment we are planning to bring are cameras, lenses, tripods, a stabilizer, mics, lighting equipment, laptop, batteries, and a drone (possibly).

All promotional videos that will be created for these projects are soley at the discretion of Sweetie and Atula Walling's project/ministry and may use it for their own marketing purposes. Whether it is to bring more awareness, educate, or fundraise, the videos will be used for whatever capacity they need.
